Joseph Wells

Joseph Wells begins his fifth year with Weatherford ISD and his first year as a 6th Grade World Geography teacher and 7th & 8th Grade boys coach. Teaching is his second career after spending more than 25 years in the construction industry, where he learned the value of hard work, problem-solving, and the importance of having the right tools; lessons that turn out to apply surprisingly well in the classroom.

Before becoming a teacher, Joseph spent four years as an In-School Suspension (ISS) paraprofessional, helping students navigate behavioral and emotional challenges. Prior to joining Weatherford ISD, he spent more than a decade working with at-risk youth through church ministry, Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch, and as a foster parent.

Joseph believes that strong relationships are the foundation of student success. His goal is to create a classroom where students feel challenged, supported, and encouraged to become curious, responsible, and confident learners. Whether exploring the world's cultures in geography or competing on the athletic field, he hopes to help students grow both academically and personally.

Outside of school, Joseph enjoys spending time with his wife and family, hunting, fishing, camping, and playing drums in several bands. He's excited to begin this new chapter in education and is looking forward to a great year with his students. He also accepts that sixth graders may occasionally know more about the latest trends than he does, and he's okay with that.
