Amy Atherton - Guidance Counselor

Hello! My name is Amy Atherton and I am so excited to take care of Tison Middle School Roos 6^th-8^th  grade with the alpha last names A-M and to support the counseling team. My goals are to help students with social and emotional skills, so they perform their best while they are at school, for their future high school careers and beyond.

I have been in education for 20 years. I taught Webmastering and Multimedia courses in high school for Arlington ISD, for many years I worked as a district instructional technology specialist for Fort Worth, and Houston ISD. In 2011 I was accepted into graduate school and fulfilled my dream to become a school counselor. I graduated from TCU in 2016. I have been a school counselor for Westlake Academy and Grapevine-Colleyville ISD.

I have a daughter Alex who is a graduate of North Texas and is a Behavior Specialist and works with students with autism. I have 2 sisters, 3 nieces and 2 nephews and my parents. I am proud to say that I am a graduate of Weatherford high school, and I am so happy to find a campus home in my hometown at Tison! Go ROOS!
