Welcome to band! Your child is now part of an exciting class that offers the chance to learn to play music, develop responsibility, work as a team member, and develop self-discipline. Studies also show that participation in music can increase a child's performance in academic areas. Surveys of All-State musicians in Texas have proven that students involved in music regularly score higher academically on the SAT test than the state and national average scores.
In addition to learning to play an instrument, band is also an important social experience. Students will form many friendships and take pride in being a member of a successful team.
